Lipoprint^® System for LDL Subfractionation

Quantimetrix Corporation has a new LDL lipoprotein subfraction testing method which has been validated in a growing number of laboratories, including The Lipids and Lipoprotein Laboratory at the Mayo Medical Laboratories. These laboratory validations have shown this new testing method to correlate well with the traditional methods, while allowing for a faster sample turnaround time at a lower cost. The Lipoprint System offers an accurate testing platform that is less prone to testing variability, has high throughput and is easy to install in any laboratory.

• The Quantimetrix assay requires only 25 µL of patient serum or plasma, with only 1 minute of “hands on” time per patient sample and a total analysis time of approximately 2.5 hours for up to 48 samples.
  
  
• The Lipoprint System makes LDL subfraction screening easy in any clinical laboratory and provides a comprehensive, full color printout of the patient's profile
  
  
• The System can also be utilized to generate testing revenue in today's CPT code-governed, testing-reimbursement system. Clinical laboratories have already billed HMO's, private insurance and Medicare for the Lipoprint tests under CPT code 83701. These laboratories have validated the test under CLIA guidelines and have started reporting patient test results for PCP's and cardiologists.
  
  
• Drug companies planning clinical trials to validate new cardiac risk factor therapeutics are also interested in finding labs that are utilizing this more cost-effective subfraction testing system.
