Lipoprint LDL and HDL Subfractionation
System Lipoprint HDL
High density lipoprotein (HDL) has been shown to have an inverse relationship with coronary heart disease (CHD). HDL is heterogeneous consisting of multiple subfractions varying in chemical composition and particle size. The relationship of various HDL subfractions to CHD is still under investigation. However, evidence suggests that larger HDL particles may be more protective against CHD than intermediate or small particles. The Lipoprint HDL System separates HDL into large, intermediate and small particles and provides cholesterol values for each subfraction. The test procedure is simple and can be done in less than three hours. A color coded profile is generated where each HDL subfraction is clearly seen. The Lipoprint HDL Kit contains all reagents necessary to run 100 tests.
