Quantimetrix Adds Three New Analytes, New Ranges for All Levels of Cardiasure™
Cardiac Marker Control Now Contains CRP, L-Homocysteine,and Digoxin

Redondo Beach, Calif. - In response to customer requests, Quantimetrix Corporation is now including three new analytes - CRP, L-Homocysteine and Digoxin -- in its popular Cardiasure™ cardiac marker control. Also, new laboratory reference ranges have been updated for Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Research shows that up to half of all heart attacks occur in persons without elevated cholesterol or other traditional risk factors, and that CRP and L-Homocysteine are effective markers. Quantimetrix also added Digoxin to help laboratories monitor dosage. Digoxin is often prescribed to treat congestive heart failure. As before, other analytes in Cardiasure include CK Total, CK-MB, Myoglobin, and Troponin I and T.

Cardiasure provides a way of monitoring serum cardiac analyte testing methods. The control is compatible with most major chemistry analyzers including AxSYM®, ACS:180®, Access®, Advia®, Centaur, Dimension®, Elecsys®, Hitachi®, Stratus®, and Synchron®. For ease of use, it is packaged in a dropper tip plastic bottle.
